James L.'s Story
I was born and raised in the San Francisco Bay Area. My family moved from Alameda to Hayward in 1951. We then moved from from Hayward to Niles Canyon near Sunol in June 1955. My mom, my sister Carole and I moved from Niles Canyon near Sunol to National City in August 1957. Hence, I graduated from SUHI in June 1958. In July 1958, I enlisted in the U.S. Air Force. the U.S. Air Force as an Aircraft Electrician took me to Bermuda for 2 years and back to Vandenberg AFB. I married Leah Crary in 1962 and raised 2 children in Hayward. After 21 years of employment at Naval Air Station, Alameda, CA, I transferred to Fort Hunter Liggett, Jolon, CA in 1987 and moved to Lake Nacimiento near Paso Robles. I retired from Fort Hunter Liggett in 1995.
